It started on October 6, 2007 and will end on September 19, 2009. A new E.P./live album, Made in Hong Kong (And in Various Other Places), was released in March 2009 as a MCD/DVD.

I really love Nightwish.I always did.They have such a magical feeling through the lyrics and music.I don`t really know why they moved to symphonic they were great as melodic power metal!But I can`t say Once and DPP are bad,they`re actually two of my favorite,because i have a dam obsession with symphonic ellements with metal music.But I think they were much original and creative during the Oceanborn/Wishmaster Era.Actually for me,even Tarja sounds better in these two albums,her live performances are much clearer and operatic in a certain way(and she`s just classical trained not operatic).Century Child was OK as vocals,but i`m not sure about Once..Well she doesn`t sound bad at all,but I much enjoyed her vocals in the previous albums .I don`t know why the most of you dislike Anette I think she is has a very beautiful and clean voice.Of course I`m sure she`ll improove more,but she sounds great for her first album in a metal band .And Marco..Marco always impressed me with his voice,powerful,evil but sometimes sweet.He has an amaizing range!(and beared! ).Tuomas is probably my favorite becase he composes the music and the lyrics(and sings but I don`t really enjoy his vocals much ) and looks like Johnny Depp
Overall my favorite album is Oceanborn(the most powerfull in my opinion,but I also love the music and Tarja`s vice here),DPP(maybe i`m contradicting myself but I really like verything about this album,except for some ballads ),Once(musically is really great and I choosed it because it has 3 of my favorite songs Ghost Love Score,Dark Chest Of Wonders,Planet Hell),Wishmaster(very powerfull the songs are amaizing but there are a few that I didn`t ike),Century Child and Angels Fall First.
My favorite sobngs are:Ghost Love Score,The Poet And The Pendulum,Dark Chest Of Wonders,Beauty OF The Beast,Gethsename,Elvenpath,Dead Boy`s Poem,Devil And The Deeo Dark Ocean,Sleeping Sun,Ever Dream and Sahara.But I pretty much like almost all their songs
Overall I really LOVE Nightwish enough to deserve a high place in my top favorite bands(2nd/3rd)I also can`t wait to see them live

P.S.Sorry for the critique,I never done that before so please don`t take it too serious

Nightwish is my favourite band! They are the best (lllll) Their music is too beautiful, powerful and lyrics are emotional and amazing. I don't have words to describe their stuff. Tuomas Holopainen is the greatest writer and keyboardist. Tarja was a brilliant vocalist and so is Anette, that's my opinion and I don't care that some people say very ugly things about Anette. She's cool, yep maybe her dressing style isn't as nice as Tarja's but anyways her voice is amazing. Marco has an awesome voice and his beard is also awesome.
And I think that Emppu is a little cute metal-elf he's the best guitar player in metal imo.
My favourite album is Once and song is Ghost Love Score. GLS is so beautiful that when I heard it for the first time it brought me to tears. So sad lyrics. Another song that has brought me to tears is Sleeping Sun.

^Emppu is awesome, but not the best, guys in Dream Theater eats him alive just like all the others *lol*

I love Nightwish and in my opinion Tuomas is one of the sexiest men alive ;=) I wish I could have seen them live in February but my "dear" parents didn't allow me to go But I'm sure they'll come again and then I can go
I can't really decide which their best song is, and I love both Anette and Tarja. But I think that Anette's voice is a bit more special. Tarja has an amazing voice, no demand. But there are many people with an opera-like-voice. And there are not so many people with a voice like Anette ;=) And I think people should accept Anette. They love 'the old Nightwish' and Anette joining the band was Tuomas' decision so why don't they understand that? If they don't like Anette, they could just listen to 'the old Nightwish' and leave the band and Anette with that nasty comments alone.

They are the best band in the world!!! Just fantastic! I love the lyrics , the music....EVERYTHING!!!!
I love all members , especially Marco and Nettie! I love both eras , but if I need to choose one...Anette era.
I sent Anette my CD with wallpapers I made for her and the guys.
Soooo...I hope she will love them. She already saw some of them!

Tarja was really good, but I like the Dark Passion Play Album the most.

I hope their new album comes soon and will be as good, as DPP.
Songs like Amaranth, Poet and the Pendelum are just amazing =)

Oh, and I like their old songs too.. Romanticide, Plant Hell, Stargazers.. Master Pieces..

Nightwish... A sucessful symphonic/power metal band from Finland... Hey, what am I talking about? Just a sucessful band?? Definitely no! They mean a lot for me. Without them, I wouldn't even get into music (not saying just metal) and wouldn't be here Even if I write thousands of books about them, I can't explain my love to them. But I'm tired of this Anette vs Tarja thing... For people who continue this sh*t, c'mon, this is just music. Tarja is gone, working solo (and I also love her solo album), and Anette is doing vox for this band... That's simple Anyway, my favourite NW albums are Angels Fall First, Oceanborn, Wishmaster, Over The Hills And Far Away, Century Child, Once and Dark Passion Play! If I have to choose one, it would be OTHAFA, Wishmaster and DPP in my opinion. Really don't know, help me

I am tired of listening Anette VS. Tarja too ...both are awesome singers! They deserve respect.
People can not compare Opera and Metal. Tarja has a great opera voice , Anette has a great metal voice...

You know that DPP is their darkest album. And Nettie's voice is Metal and rock style.
She is lyrical soprano...but che choosed metal-rock style =)

Yeah lyrically it might have been their darkest.
I actually find it funny that on NW album Master Passion Greed was owned for the Tarja's husband, and in Epica's album Menace of Vanity was owned for their ex-label manager
And they were released in the same year, lot's of protest

IMO Anette uses pop-style in singing, compared to the tons of metal singers she really doesnt sound like them, she is too soft for that
